Altrika Ltd uses high-throughput methods developed over many years by world-class scientists in the field of combinatorial chemistry. By combining a number of unique, patented methods and informatics solutions, we can deploy a fully-integrated workflow which allows the synthesis and analysis of materials in parallel. This dramatically reduces the time and cost associated with the discovery of new materials, and allows us to quickly identify patentable candidate materials which meet the needs of the application.
By combining the material requirements with a thorough review of the latest scientific advances, a library of potential candidates is designed and synthesised using a combinatorial approach. Once synthesised, the library is characterised and screened using high-throughput techniques to identify those materials with the specific and required properties. The results of these assays are then processed in-house to allow us to develop an understanding of the factors affecting the properties of the materials. This knowledge is used to design novel libraries with enhanced functionalities, which are in turn synthesised, screened and analysed.
This iterative process allows for the discovery of a range of novel materials which fulfils or exceeds the original requirements.
